Applications for small or large vinyl decals:

process for small decals (under 15 inches):

  • Before applying make sure your printing surface is clean and dry to the touch.

  • Peel off the paper backing.
  • Apply the transfer sheet (decal still attached) to your print surface.
  • Using the included squeegee rub the entire surface of the decal through the transfer sheet.
  • Peel the transfer sheet off of the material.
  • If any part of the decal begins lifts away with the transfer sheet, go back and rub that area firmly before continuing to peel transfer sheet.
  • process for large decals (larger than 15 inches):

For large decals (larger than 15 inches) the process is slightly more involved. We recommend doing this with two or more people for extra-large decals.

    1. Before applying make sure your printing surface is clean and dry to the touch.
    2. Lay your decal face up on a table or flat surface. Press firmly on the squeegee and run it across your entire decal. This helps ensure that the decal sticks to the transfer paper.
    3. We recommend using masking tape to mark where you want to apply your decal. You can use a level to make sure it is even.
    4. Pick up your design from the top corners. Carefully line your design up with your tape guides. Stick the exposed 2 inches of your decal to the wall.
    5. Peel the transfer sheet off of the material.
    6. Use tape to secure the top of your transfer paper to the surface.
    7. Using your squeegee smooth out the 1-2 inches that are exposed to your surface.
    8. Begin slowly pulling down the backing paper. As you go, use your squeegee to press your decal to the surface and remove any bubbles. Continue this until the backing paper is removed completely. If you make a mistake, gently peel the decal off the wall and reposition it.
    9. Once the backing is removed, go over your entire design with your squeegee pressing firmly. This will help secure your decal to your surface.
    10. Use tape to secure the top of your transfer paper to the surface.
    11. Choose a corner and begin to peel back the clear transfer paper. Keep it flat against your design as you remove it. Go slow! If you peel to quickly you may stretch out your decal. Make sure that your designs are sticking flat to the wall and not to the transfer paper. If any part is staying on the transfer paper, use your squeegee to press it to the wall and try again. Continue until the transfer paper is removed entirely.
    12. Use your squeegee to smooth out any final bubbles or creases
